You can get one report for free from each credit agencies per year. The site suggests if you're not doing something like looking to get a house, you can stagger getting reports from the three places so you can monitor your credit report throughout the year. So get a report from just Experian, four months later get a report from Equifax, four months after that get a report from TransUnion, four months later start over. That way can see if like a credit card opens in your name you weren't expecting or something.
